Local commitment with a global perspective

Along with having deep roots in their communities, UPM's paper mills look outward to a global market and ahead to an ever-changing future.

UPM Communication Papers' success rests on our 11 paper mills located in Europe and North America. Our mills are economically vital to their local communities, while being sources of innovation that will help make paper viable for years to come. With facilities often in close proximity to our customers, we can ensure quick and secure delivery.

Our offices

Much like a tree's canopy, our worldwide offices are a closely-woven, integrated whole. We also reach into local communities, where we act as a vital economic partner and a good neighbor.

Our Augsburg headquarters

The UPM Communication Papers business is steered from our Augsburg headquarters, through the management of our Operations, Sales and Supply Chain organisations. Located in Bavaria, Southern Germany, the offices are conveniently situated in the middle of Europe, close to both suppliers and customers surrounded by good infrastructure.

The Augsburg office is the home office to approximately 350 employees, working in functions like supply chain, sales, technical customer service, RCP supply, Central European wood supply, finance & controlling, stakeholder relations, sourcing and legal. The offices are also connected to the Augsburg paper mill, which is the oldest paper mill of UPM Communication Papers, founded in the 1840s.

The Biofore House

The Biofore House, located in Helsinki city centre, is the Group head office of UPM. It is home to many value-adding functions: HR, stakeholder relations, finance & control, treasury, technology, sourcing, IT, and many UPM businesses including UPM Fibres, UPM Biofuels, UPM Energy, UPM Raflatac and UPM Specialty Papers.

Approximately 450 employees work in the Biofore House. It is also a lively meeting centre with more than 20,000 visitors every year.
