UPM exclusive partner of FIPP's Rising Stars in Media

Press Release 17.8.2015 12:00 EEST

FIPP’s Rising Stars in Media is a new initiative that seeks to recognize exceptional young talent within the international magazine media industry, across any discipline. FIPP wants to discover and recognize those individuals under the age of 30 in media companies across the globe that are demonstrating outstanding talent and developing remarkable initiatives.

“The list is not intended as a true beginner’s award, but instead recognizes someone who has worked in the industry for at least two years – whether this be a full-time/part time employee or a freelancer – and in the past 12 months has proved to deliver above and beyond what was expected”, says Christine Huntingford, Vice President at FIPP. “The entrants from across the world will be short-listed and it will be the who’s who to watch of talents rising up through the magazine media ranks.”

The Rising Stars in Media list will be released in September. The top three exceptional rising stars will be invited to be a panel list at the FIPP World Magazine Congress in Toronto, Canada, 13-15 October and will be presented with an award.

“This new initiative recognizes the drive and ambition that young executives have in developing magazine media brands. It incorporates high quality journalism of young writers, the dynamic and innovative solutions for advertisers to support the magazine brands, as well as technological advances that drive engagement with magazines brands and their audiences. Their outstanding contribution enhances magazine media across different platforms on offer – be it print, digital or a combination of the two,” adds Ruud van den Berg, UPM’s Senior Vice President for Magazine Publishing & Advertising. “We are proud to be a member of the judging panel and to support the young talent in the publishing business.”
